Consolidating keys and preserving hardware
After a move or a missing key, a rekey may let you retain sound deadbolts and handles. We change the operating keys for compatible cylinders under an agreed plan and test the finished access. If an existing master-key arrangement needs to remain, discuss that before work begins. Hardware that is worn or damaged may need repair or replacement instead.
Rekeying can also reduce the number of keys you carry where the cylinders are compatible. We check their design and condition, rather than relying on matching brand names alone. If a selected cylinder change would help, we explain that option alongside keeping separate keys. Sound hardware does not need replacement just because the keys are different.
Separate access can be useful too. For example, you might want someone to use a workshop without receiving a house key. That may call for a separate lock group or a planned hierarchy, depending on who else needs access. We map the arrangement before changing keys. Our rekeying service can help turn that door list into a manageable plan.
